Ukulele & Voice | Assistant Manager

Carolina Silva is a Colombian artist and passionate music educator with expertise in composition, singing, songwriting, and musical theater. A graduate of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, Carolina specialized in classical music, musical theater, and traditional Latin American folklore, refining her skills in each genre. Throughout her university years, she was an active member of the university’s professional chorus, performing in prestigious choral competitions across Europe and gaining notable recognition for their vocal abilities.

Carolina’s deep connection to the performing arts also led her to the Musical Theatre Company Studio5 in Bucaramanga, where she honed her interdisciplinary skills in music, theater, and dance. This diverse training provided her with a unique approach to engaging children in music, combining vocal technique with creative expression and physical movement.

With experience as a singing teacher and in musical initiation for children, Carolina’s teaching philosophy focuses on the importance of body expression and play as tools for learning. She believes that music education should be a joyful, interactive process where children learn to connect with their bodies, their voices, and the world around them. Drawing from her theatrical background, she incorporates creative games and exercises into her lessons, fostering an environment where students feel free to explore and express themselves.

A dynamic performer, Carolina has showcased her talent at various venues and festivals in Vancouver, including the Vancouver Latin American Film Fest, Indie Fest, and Vancouver Mural Festival. Her music blends the rich traditions of Latin American sounds with contemporary influences, drawing inspiration from artists like Simón Díaz, Totó la Momposina, and Natalia Lafourcade. Carolina’s compositions are deeply personal, serving as a medium for introspection, self-reflection, and emotional exploration.

With a deep commitment to both her craft and her students, Carolina is excited to bring her creative teaching methodology to the classroom, helping the next generation of musicians not only develop their technical skills but also discover the joy and freedom of musical expression.
